The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) recently awarded the City of South Lake Tahoe and NCE, a 2013 Best in the Basin award for the Pioneer Trail Pedestrian Improvements. The continuing expansion of providing our services in the Tahoe Basin, plus the collaboration between TRPA, City of South Lake Tahoe and NCE resulted in this prestigious award. NCE’s services included development of preliminary and final design plans, specifications, and cost estimates; Stormwater Multi-Application Reporting and Tracking System (SMARTS) database set up and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. Project implementation included extensive public outreach, facilitation of rights of entry on privately owned parcels within the project area, and compliance with Caltrans (E-76 Documentation). NCE also provided engineering support services during construction.
Washoe County Community Services Department was recently awarded the APWA Nevada Chapter Project of the Year in the category of environmental projects under $5 million for “Incline Village Fairway-Fairview Phase III Water Quality Improvement Project”. This is the fourth project collaboration between Washoe County and NCE that has resulted in an APWA Project of the Year award. NCE provided all of the environmental permitting, engineering design, and services during construction for the project.
NCE has been honored by the APWA Northern California Chapter for our work on the Via Verdi Culvert Collapse Emergency Response Project for the City of Richmond. Under NCE’s On-Call Services Contract with the City, NCE provided emergency engineering response services, restored access to residents and developed designs to stabilize the creek area and protect the watershed. Ryan Shafer acted as Project Manager, assisted by Franz Haidinger, Jenny Crow, and Carman Ng.
