• Develop project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates (must include knowledge of mechanistic-empirical procedures, AASHTO, Caltrans and FAA)
• Experience in pavement designs utilizing nondestructive testing equipment (e.g. Falling Weight Deflectometer)
• Familiarity with pavement management systems (e.g. StreetSaver and PAVER)
• Perform field exploration, inspection, analysis
• Resolve problems, interpret engineering specifications, investigate design and field engineering difficulties and coordinate schedules
• Prepare and/or review paving specifications
• Manage pavement engineering projects
• Develop cost-effective design solutions
• Lead a small team of engineers in the execution of project design on both small and large projects
• Serve as technical liaison with client on project efforts
• Responsible for cost control on projects and quality control

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Experience modeling and analyzing both open channel flow and closed systems (storm drain system)

• Working knowledge of California and Nevada drainage and flood control requirements
• Working knowledge of ArcMap, HEC-RAS, and XP Storm
• Understanding of river mechanics and geomorphic principles
